All of us probably like wearing scarves in winter, scarves are friendly and they keep your neck warm and add a wonderful splash of color to the complexion.

Here’s a guide for those who do not know how to tie it!

1. First, start with a square and fold the scarf on the diagonal to form a triangle. easy thing!
2. Hold ends in each hand with the large side of the triangle pointing down.
3. Wrap the scarf around your neck from the back to the front, letting the two ends meet in the front, tie a knot in the front creating a cape-like effect and wrap the rest around to the back.
4. Finish by tying a knot at the back.
5. Get a dark pink one like mine and match that with a nice plain tee from TOPMAN, a cool Viker or Zatiny from DIESEL jeans and sexy sneakers and you’re ready to party?

God finally listened to Red Hot Chili Peppers (yeah, right!). I’m enjoying the office’s warm weather, very comforting… sipping my coffee, looking at the street and snow from my window. I took some videos & photos which I’ll post later, or might not.

** Snow (Hey Oh) is a metaphorical juxtaposition of idealism and reality. Many people have had their shares of hard times, but eventually all misfortunes of the past get covered with “snow.” Ultimately, people create “realities” or “wonders” (in the words of Kiedis) that mask the true substantive nature of their situation. The song in its entirety is analogous to the postulate: “everyone views themselves (or their situation) in the light that flatters them most.” Thus, the obscurest landscapes and the most jagged of edges are unified and beautified when covered with “snow.” Metaphorically, “snow” is essentially the medium by which true reality is masked.

Additionally serves to further the point that “snow” is the differential factor that obscures reality and idealism. As more “snow” accumulates, the less we know about the nature of what’s beneath the “snow”. Likewise, “The more I like to let it go”, serves to illustrate the appeal of “snow,” in that “snow” catalyzes dissociation with reality and initiates desire to associate more with the “ideal reality” than the “substantive reality.”

And yes, although not explicitly about drugs, this song could be used to refer to them, along with any other “skeletons in one’s closet” that are dusted with “snow.”

On the world arena, there was, on the negative side, wars, food poisoning; on the positive side, it was heartwarming to see so the shawerma bans, Lebanese democracy and more.

Turning to my keyboard, here is a look back and ahead.

Ten Things I’d like to see Ending with 2007:

1. Weak and expensive wi-fi spots around the city & limited internet.
2. Advertisements full of misspellings and bad concepts.
3. Beggars everywhere near fast food restaurants in Jordan that’d not let you enjoy your food.
4. The Sarsari accent of many.
5. K.Fucking.C
6. Not smiling in Jordan?
7. Zain’s ugly advertisements?
8. Babies thrown in garbage because they’re not wanted.
9. People running around with Carrefour trolleys in CityMall.
10. TAXES! TAXES! TAXES!

Ten Things I liked in 2007 (and want to see more of in 2008):

1. Great new restaurants/hang outs popping up. (hint: Subway)
   OH, OH & FRED THE CHICKEN.
2. Events such as Distant Head and Tiesto in Petra.
3. New malls, CityMall alike.
4. Brands of young men strutting around the malls with tight, bright clothes and hair styled skywards – I like that, we had enough being regular.
5. Decent people sharing same interests with me (I met many nice people/bloggers this year).
6. Advertising wars in Jordan.
7. Gadgets, like the iPhone, new iPods & Operating Systems.
8. Sites like ikbis & watwet.
9. Megastores… I enjoyed Virgin & Prime this year.
10. Less whore-y looking Hijbabis.

I think 2007 was another successful year, being elected the most annoying blogger in the Jordanian blogosphere according to Ibrahim’s readers, also many people chose me as their favorite blogger on the favorite blogger day competition, thank you for choosing me and I hope you like my new stuff too, I also ranked first between Jordanian most popular bloggers, 9th on Jordanian bloggers worldwide on Alexa stats & 8th on technorati, I was also mentioned on Global Voices Online & many other blogs (thanks for having me on your blogroll list everyone) + Katy Perry’s official MySpace page as a news source.

Many other “bloggers” wrote about me under the most anonymous names of “mab3oos”, “the critic”. I met a lot of nice bloggers in real life, and I hope they liked me because I don’t believe in this “I hope I gave them a good impression” crap, I am whatever I want to be, and I don’t care if no one likes me. (take that for a motto)

I can say 2007 was beyond expectations, I had the chance to intern/work at a high-profile advertising agency in Kuwait, learned a lot, and now working at another high-profile well known advertising agency in Amman while studying. Now talking about 2007 in other fields, like studying for example… Well, last semester was nice, I dropped one class this semester and I think I might need an extra semester to finish the studying plan since some friends ended up taking 18 credits the past summer courses and took more credits than I did the past semesters.

In general, I was soaked into depression during January/February, I shaved my head for the first time in my life, put new piercings & grew a beard, shaved it, opened up, started doing new things again, grew my hair, done a few podcasts, got a new macbook, ipod, iphone and did a lot of shopping, missed many people especially steve, kloude, mohkha & josh, I engraved on linocut & plywood, met international artists, helped tourists not to get raped by the airport taxi prices, fought stores with the worse spelling/english ever, my tartool project, liked a nasheed, talked about my converse obsession, hating people who add ketchup to their pizza, missing mother and more…

Mannula tagged me on facebook, I usually ditch tags, but I decided to answer this one because I liked it. “My Daily Schedule” is weird and boring… However, here’s my schedule during workdays.

• 7.30am to 8am:
  Shower time + shaving + getting ready to go to university (prepare bag as well).
• 8am to 8.20am:
  Finding a ride to university and waiting in queue, usually road takes 15 minutes unless there’s an accident or road blockage.
• 9am:
  First class, 3 days a week I finish at 12pm and other 2 days I finish at 4pm.
• If 12pm or 4pm:
  Roll up for quick meal (most probably fast food) and head to work.
• 7pm:
  I probably finish work by that time, either head home and do homework or meet friends and do homework or anything else (if I had any power left or wasn’t busy), shower, have dinner, chat.
• 12am:
  Sleep.

University time includes socializing, bowling or any other activity at the arena, argeeleh and pizza at cipresso, drawing at the studio or browse internet at campus.

Oh, things I can’t live survive weekdays (whether at work or university) without:

• Sketchbook: Ideas come flashing by, document them.
• Macbook: Easy to carry, fast to operate, battery stays for 4 hours and it looks neat.
• A lot of pens, different types and sizes including colored markers or at least a black one, a sweet portable metal Olfa blade or an art knife.
• Backpack or man purse: contains band-aids, a small bottle of water, roll of toilet paper, iPhone (or iPod) + the USB cable, a mini-flash memory (512kb), coins, some lactaid and panadol actifast pills, perfume or deodorant, wallet, rolls of magic/various tapes, toolbox, a pack of cherry halls. **sometimes, sandwiches.
