All of us probably like wearing scarves in winter, scarves are friendly and they keep your neck warm and add a wonderful splash of color to the complexion.

Here’s a guide for those who do not know how to tie it!

First, start with a square and fold the scarf on the diagonal to form a triangle. easy thing!

Hold ends in each hand with the large side of the triangle pointing down.

Wrap the scarf around your neck from the back to the front, letting the two ends meet in the front, tie a knot in the front creating a cape-like effect and wrap the rest around to the back.

Finish by tying a knot at the back.

Get a dark pink one like mine and match that with a nice plain tee from TOPMAN, a cool Viker or Zatiny from DIESEL jeans and sexy sneakers and you’re ready to party?

Good morning peeps!

Anyways, here’s a new ugly logo coming up.

HP has decided to go wacko and go glossy, now the logo almost looks like a SUPERHERO according to Freddie, They have decided to move away from the rounded rectangle and go with a circle. The HP now has a “fancy” bevel to it as well.

I think it is disgustingly bad!

Well, unless you’ve been trapped in prison lately, you should’ve heard about Apple’s new iPhone 3G. It’s twice as fast as the original and only half the price (as they claim…)

The new iPhone will run on several networks around the globe, Orange confirmed in Jordan, Vodafone in Egypt and Qtel in Qatar and it seems Zain won’t be getting any. iPhone will run on 3G networks (which we don’t also have in Jordan) alongside built-in GPS mapping, Microsoft Exchange support, desktop-class web browser, apps and Apple’s New MobileMe service. You’ll find Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, a 3.5 inch 480×320 pixel display, 2.0 megapixel geotagging camera, accessible SIM card and a slick new case.

The iPhone 3G will weigh 4.7 ounces and come in 8GB or 16GB sizes in black or white (16GB only). Now, here I have a question… I loved my previous iPhone and only sold it because It gave me headache and I accidently dropped it on the floor and scratched the screen. BUT! why would I need a 3G iPhone when networks in Jordan do not have that activated? The release in the US/UK in 6 days way and I can’t wait for it to come out..

Also, according to Apple, AT&T will offer it in the US for $199 for the 8GB and $299 for the 16GB (w/ 2 year contract) so I guess and according to Apple prices in the Middle East (calculating since a 350 KD macbook costs 500 in Kuwait and same in Jordan).

I think Orange’s offer is going to be for 250 JD for the 8GB and 500 JD for the 16GB (w/ 2 year contract), I hope they surprise me and release it for cheaper.

Job Interviews

Location: Our living room
Time: 11 something pm
Scene: Sister asleep in her room, mother watching Noor which is about to end in few mins, I’m on my macbook preparing an updated resume/portfolio.

Mother: Habibi, what time is your job interview tomorrow?

Myself: I have 3, one at 9 am, 3 pm the last one undecided yet.

Mother: YOU HAVE 3 INTERVIEWS AND YOU ARE GOING LIKE THIS? *mothers looks at me*

My hair is short and you can actually see that I’m kind of balding, blonde hair ends, I have an upper left ear piercings alot with my left ear, right ear and my right eyebrow pierced and my goatee looks like a kite. I’m planning to wear a white Blouzaat T-shirt that says “The high tax that humanity pays” in Arabic and GAP jeans shorts, along with my Adidas sneakers.

Myself: Yes mama, esh fee? Not like it is a big deal and the latest two piercings are new ma bagdar asheelhom! besakro…

Mother *almost fainting*: Keef!! Mama for job interviews you have to shave your beard and also trim your hair even though it is short and take off your piercings. Also, wear formal clothes and behave.

Myself: MAMA! I’m not applying for a job at a bank! I’m a designer, applying for a job as a designer at advertising agencies. DESIGNERS LOOK THE WAY THEY WANT!

Mother: Are you sure they won’t kick you out?

Myself: MAMA! IT IS NOT LIKE I NEVER HAD A JOB BEFORE, I HAD CONSTANT JOBS FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS! EASY CHILL!

Mother went babbling *akeed ma ra7 yen2abel… ma berod, mashkalji w 3aneed…*

I think designers’ mothers get freaked out. I mean, not all of us look different, but most of us do. It is required! you can’t be a designer and normal at the same time! and it is not like I’m in KSA or Iran, I’m in liberal Kuwait. Anyways I hope I like the offers today! too bad it’s only a summer job.

What do you think of designers?
