Migrating to Orange Blackberry service, Bye Zain Jordan

After using Zain’s BlackBerry service, I decided to move to Orange Jordan.

Let me start with the most complicated pay method on earth, on Zain… I get charged 29 JD/month (excluding tax) besides my phone bill… and it reaches 70 JD although I talk less and my friends who have prepaid lines have me added free on the 5Xtra offer.

What I also found out, their bill cycle is on the 23rd of the month and whenever I don’t pay my bill on time because like normal people I get paid beginning of the month (which usually makes me a week late), they turn my GPRS/EDGE service off (although I’m still being charged for it) and when I pay my bill they never return it, I always have to call and ask them to reactivate my GPRS service.

Also, the customer care center representatives (that Zain charges you for using help from) know nothing about Blackberry services and their only solution for all problems is “Sir, restart your phone”.

Besides the unstable network and ping timeouts (according to Blackberry server test) and although I pay for unlimited service (but because there’s some misunderstanding between GPRS/WAP and BIS), I get charged for my FREE browsing.

Now, the stereotype in Jordan is that Orange is always more expensive and Zain is cheaper, which is totally wrong! I decided to move to Orange for a better service. Orange offers the unlimited service (25 JD/month) and 4 hours of free-talking and my bill won’t reach the 50 JD (I’m a freelancer/student with a fixed income).
