The following story might make more sense if you are first aware of the cinematic allegiances that exist within the Jordanian Royal Family. King Abdullah II, for instance, likes Transformers and once appeared in Star Trek. The best Middle Eastern diplomats probably know this. You never know when that sort of information can help you out of a tight spot.
So, according to Times, during the making of Brüno!, Sacha Baron Cohen was wandering the Middle East dressed as a gay Austrian fashion journalist visited Jordan and interviewed the Prime Minister. It went fine, until the authorities found out that he was neither Austrian nor a journalist and all hell broke loose. LOL, I feel sorry for him
Then apparently the Jordanian PM demanded to know why “that Zionist comedian” had been allowed into his house. Then the Royal Family intervened. Not the King, who was away, but his majesty’s brother. Prince Ali who is a huge Ali G fan apparently defused the situation.
Now, Prince Ali we need to see Brüno in cinemas, with the Jordanian part uncensored.

Hi there,
Thanks for article. Everytime like to read you.
Thanks
Nadine
I fail to understand why the governoments censor movies I mean I understand the sex and nudity scenes but why polictical ones. Its the core of the movie if it did not have a point they would not have made it. Like When I saw “The Devil’s Advocate” When I watched it after downloading it from the internet I discovered there are major parts cut that affects how you understand the movie all together. I would rather they don’t show it at all instead of shreding it into pieces. What do you think?
@Sou-One-Canobee
coz they are epic fail , same goes for theaters in Jordan .
even sexual and nudity scenes still part of the movie ….
now a days movies not about arnold schwarzenegger with big ass gun machine killing 20k people and he leave (not injured) .
movies mix of emotions .. time to kill and a time to heal , time to weep and a time to laugh , time to love and a time to hate .
all has been put together to create the masterpiece .
that scenes all together IS the story , Wonder if you can read story if there’s 5 pages missing .
scenes all together is the movie’s visual language its how the director telling you the story , and hes just a messenger knowing that cutting one part will screw up the story BUT the man incharge in our theaters (smartass guy) KNOW it doesn’t make any different coz most of the audience will be busy huggin and kissin each others in the back seats .
