Just received an updated regarding this post. Thanks to Lun and Aljarida:
I got confirmation that the Minister himself has convened with his department heads and rescinded the order.
Thanks to the minister, please do not let your employees with their long beards and short dishdashas mess around next time.

I just LOVE the new template! My two favorite colors in the world put together!
This is definitely good news! Not that a block is impossible to get around or anything…
YouTube, a video sharing Web site, faced the possibility of a ban in Kuwait, reported Kuwait Times on Monday. A memo from the Ministry of Information had ordered local Internet service providers in the country to block access to the site, according to the paper.
However, Web surfers in Kuwait say the Web site is still accessible. A report on the Inquirer IT Web site about the ban quotes blogger “Bashar.” A comment on his blog says the ban was later lifted.
While the state of the ban remains in question, advertising and marketing experts see access to such media as a way to reach their audiences. Louai Alasfahani, managing director of Paragon Marketing Communications in Kuwait, says, “This is a form of new media. We as an advertising agency use YouTube and Facebook as an electronic medium. And in the Arab world, this medium is still in its infancy. We need more channels of communication and it’s vital to us as an advertising agency.”
