again, this post is not about Ramadan

It’s about what Ramadan mean to you…

In Ramadan, you wake up in the morning, no one else is awake and it’s really dark and you grab something to eat quickly and then you pray. Then you go out and throughout the whole day when you are walking past super markets, restaurants and canteens then you smell the food and you’re tummy starts gurgling. I don’t actually believe in fasting, I believe that god can see the sacrifice I’m making for Him, but I believe there are other ways to do that, However.. surprisingly I might be fasting this Ramadan, maybe because I’m planning a diet on and I have nothing else to do? So I’m considering it a forced-on diet, I heard it’s been scientifically proved that if you do this for 30 days out of a year it detoxs your body and It’s not that hard right now because the days are really short and as long as you fill yourself up in the morning you’ll be fine till about 6pm.

Ramadan for me means a month of patience, no partying, no drinking and losing weight. (how airhead-ish?)

I think of Ramadan is a time of struggle, to change our behaviour so as to abandon those bad and sinful actions that we are accustomed to doing and strive to perform more good actions on a regular basis.

Yes it is healthy but only the food part. Not drinking water on a hot summers day can be detrimental to your health.

Ramadan means differently for people! Worship or diet or control or a combination of many things!

Worst thing about it being a “crash course” is that the results are not often long term. The trick isn’t keeping up during Ramadan, but after!
