Thank god I don't (and won't) own one.

Anyways congrats for ur new drive ;)

Well, Since most people write with their right hand. When they use the TrackPad, they will place their hand on the right hand side of the TrackPad, and our hand exerts a little pressure to the MacBook top case from time to time. Therefore, the top case was pushed down. The edges of the top case are supported by the side of the bottom case, so it cracked!

When a friend of mine in the US asked if there was anything he could purchase - an insert or anything - to make sure that this will not happen again, the representer said that Apple had apparently had a company manufacturing the cases who was using sub-par materials. They have recently switched manufacturers and will now have a lifetime guarantee not to crack.

This issue should be covered under warranty and fixed for free.
