Remember back in November? My macbook was soaked in water and my superdrive doesn’t read any kind of disks?

Well, what I did… I came back to Kuwait in January, sent my Macbook to Mac & More (Digits now) and asked them to replace it, they unplugged the superdrive and promised to replace it in a month, but I couldn’t wait because I had to go back to university, so I told them to keep the drive once they get it in a month and keep it until I come back in June, and that’s what they did.
They called in February and told me it arrived and I just placed it yesterday, it took them 1 hour to plug it in and repair some system files (I uninstalled windows on the extra partition… akh, Microsoft.. always, a problem) and even cleaned the Macbook for me.
I only had to pay 10 KD for clearing the drive out of customs.
Now, I have this other issue that few of other Macbook users have, a crack next to the magnets where you usually rest your right hand, which is also under warranty. It doesn’t bother me since it is really small, but I want the keyboard changed, they told me I can replace mine in 5 minutes at the Marina Mall branch, but keyboards they have now are only English and I’ll have to wait a month for the Arabic keyboard, so I’m waiting

I have to mention that Digits’ service is one of the best in town, seriously! they even honor international warranty.
For more info, check Digits’ website. or call them on 22 44 793.

My macbook doesn’t cough disks | The Macbook Blog added these pithy words on Jun 19 08 at 5:05 amAmbaih I never knew those cracks are common!
I have the exact same crack; I got it when my book fell off the couch.
How did you get yours?
Well, Since most people write with their right hand. When they use the TrackPad, they will place their hand on the right hand side of the TrackPad, and our hand exerts a little pressure to the MacBook top case from time to time. Therefore, the top case was pushed down. The edges of the top case are supported by the side of the bottom case, so it cracked!
When a friend of mine in the US asked if there was anything he could purchase – an insert or anything – to make sure that this will not happen again, the representer said that Apple had apparently had a company manufacturing the cases who was using sub-par materials. They have recently switched manufacturers and will now have a lifetime guarantee not to crack.
This issue should be covered under warranty and fixed for free.

This exactly proves my point when I say their hardware is made of cheap plastic
Super drives screwed, cracks, random shutdowns and all sorts of faults…Thank god I don’t (and won’t) own one.
Anyways congrats for ur new drive
