A lot of people including myself do not know whether they want to be in Design or Digital Design.

Design as in Junior/Mideweight/Senior Design, while Digital design is being a Web/Flash Designer, Motion Graphics Designer or a Flash Developer.

Digital Design usually pays more, but not in the Middle East unfortunately. In Jordan, where I’ve been for the past couple of years, pay rates for design freelancers are low in many cases, particularly when it comes to advertising disciplines. Pay is not that bad, it is good, but not like everywhere else on earth. The difference between Jordan and other countries, is that once you do a “Digital” task let’s say, updates are not usually charged and the fault is always yours. (ex. The website goes down, it is your fault. -put reason here-, it is your fault.)

I’m not a big fan of Digital anyways, but I can go along with it.

“A shoemaker usually walks barefoot” A friend told me this Hebrew proverb when I asked if he had plans to renovate his portfolio, Apparently he’s too busy designing for other people. Reminds me of “باب النجار مخلع”.

Well, choose what suits you best. If you don’t love what you do, you won’t do a good job in it. And when u don’t do it right, you don’t get paid as u wished.

And I love the proverb :)
