I’m off to Damascus for a couple of days, sort of business trip/relaxing at the same time, I needed time off. It is time for good ol’ Syrian food, would probably have some Armenian Soujouk at Harot.
Recommend any places? I’m thinking Bab Tuma for some partying? Let me know…

Don’t get out from syria before going to SOUK EL 7AMEDYE and eat the most amazing ice cream at BUGDASH , You will find it on the right after a couple of stores from the main entrance of the market , Check out the guys will making the ice cream , Offer to help out and take a picture of yourself while doing that.
make sure to go have lunch at BLODAN beside the river , Food tastes different there.
Have fun , Try to update us with the latest from there with pictures , I doubt though since Syria have a crappy internet serivce.

it’s funny how people in Jordan pronounce some Syrian venues and stuff in a very different way! like Bugdash instead of Bekdash, Ma2dous for Makdous, Kubbah for Kebbeh, Bab Al Bareed for Bab El Breed, Burma for Mabroomeh (sweets)..
ah! the funniest ones are: Sulanfiah for Slonfeh (near Latakia).. Bab Thoooma for Bab Tuma!!
in a way, Jordanizing the stuff for one reason; either to be cool and have the know-how tricks! or to be stupid and want the people to laugh on them..
it’s like Yasser Arafat when he used to say Ardon for Ordon..
kind of insisting on the wrong way to do things!
have a nice stay there!

LOL hussien !! , I don’t mean to jordanize anything as you said , I just said the words the seemed right with the writing , LOL! , But yeah some people tend to jordanize syrian words , Or anything strange from there language , I’m jordanian by nationality , But my mother is syrian , So i know some stuff.

As long as you’ve mentioned it, Syrians say Erdon not Ordon!
Using
yeah.. i heard some people saying it in that way.. but me, No for sure
* some old Palestinians say: Amreekiya.. while some Syrians say: Amarika.. so coool

you should try Jetset club, Platinum, and Zee Bar.
yalla have fun;).

Ammar, welcome… wallah you know my blog now?
well, Jetset is shit! 20 guys and 3 girls! and the DJ is bad! Zee Bar is ok, don’t like it much.
Platinum is next on my list, however Syria’s clubbing scene is dead compared to Amman’s.
