I love it how you speak Arabic/English in one sentence… Are you sure you didn’t live here in Canada/USA for a few years! Unless this is how our generation is speaking now a days!
For some reason you look sooo Jordanian/Palestinian.. I think it is the beard!
I love it how you rant about Jordanian designers.. I think you will get a lot of angry people soon!

Rebellious Arab Girl: This is how this new generation speaks, specially in West Amman
za3tar | May 14th, 2008 Using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 and SuSE Linux Says:
Moey: You raise a good point. I think the problem of good people migrating away is not just in Graphics Design, but also in many other fields.
I think this means a couple of things: 1. the market is ready for good people to sweep it away and do very well in it. 2. we need the good and talented experts to stay in the country to lift the status quo of that field and make it attractive for other talented people to come and compete in it.
I am personally not very well versed in the field of graphics design, but i can tell you that this is the case for software engineering. However, luckily, highly talented engineers have realized the huge potential that is available (untouched) in the country and they are taking advantage of that. So, hopefully that will happen with graphics design.
Just out of curiosity, what are your plans after graduation ? do you intend to leave or stay ?
Moey | May 14th, 2008 Using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 and Mac OS X Says:
za3tar, I got offers to go to Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain. I will choose the best company, then take the offer. so far, they’re all good and in the top 5 internationally.
I’m not planning to stay, unless I get a super good offer and a salary that is close to the ones in the Gulf, but that’s not happening… I know people who’ve been in the industry for 10 years if not more, and still get low payments.
za3tar | May 14th, 2008 Using Mozilla Firefox 3.0b5 and SuSE Linux Says:
Moey: Good luck with your decision.
Moey | May 14th, 2008 Using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 and Mac OS X Says:
Yo Moey…how goes it…who is it that said I may not agree with what you’re saying but will defend to death your right to say it? Graphic Design isnt about what they teach you in university, its about experiences that you translate visually into art and trust me no one can teach that. I wish you the best of luck whereever you decide to go. From what I have seen you are incredibly talented and will do well. AND FOR THE RECORD, if you mix Arabic and English then dont change that, it’s very natural and not scripted, your cast needs to be about you and what you are:)
What’s your email, want to send you something that will make you realize the truth behind our industry here in Jordan…

I laughed my ass off on the bit where u say “300 x 400 pixels o 3amelha 50cm x 70cm…”
And the problems with graphic designers isn’t only the university, its being creative, its looking around you and getting a sudden inspiration from something or somewhere, and unfortunately, a lot of graphic designers in the middle east don’t have any kind of creativity.
Good luck with your new job offers, I really wish you all the best. You’re a great designer, and keep it in the same Arabic/English way it is, its so much fun!
