A grumpy day leads to visiting Mecca Mall, my friend asked me to wait for him next to the ATM machine, I reached early and needed to take a leak, while walking on my way to the bathroom, I noticed an old lady, late 50s, looks decent and muhajjaba, sitting right in the café crying her heart out while the waiter is trying to calm her down

I ignored and “took a leak”, on my way back I wanted to ignore as it doesn’t relate to me, then talking to myself I noticed that I have manners that won’t let me do that.. “Khair ya hajjeh, esh fe?” I asked, “El wlad men el sa’aa setteh tarakooni shway ta yeshtero ghrad w ma ‘arfeh awsallon” she replied, her red face, the watery eyes and the whole situation was miserable.

Basically, she’s visiting Jordan for a couple of days with her daughters (grown ups, 21+) and they decided to do shopping and planned to leave the next morning (and such a mall like Mecca’s doesn’t have any information desk or staff to deal with the issue, impressive Jordan way to go tourism and you still blame %#@^$

Anyways, so her slutty daughters left her alone, because she cannot cruise all the time, for 6 hours and did not bother to let her know! Could not bother to in the first case (four and above 21). Her mobile, bag and IDs neither are with her but in the car that she doesn’t have keys to nor know its brand, she only knows the color.

I tried to talk to her and make her feel comfortable, and the waiter (I salute you and wish everyone in Jordan was just like you) served her a cup of coffee and managed calling her family back in Syria (called her brother and asked him to call her daughters and let them know what’s happening). I also tried to help; she only knew her brother’s house number. I managed finding out the international code and the city code from a friend. The waiter called, her daughters showed up after 10 minutes… she prayed for me, I was relieved, I was almost about to cry and gave her daughters a lecture that I assure that they would never ever forget. In addition, made their life hell. I wanted to punch someone in the face so bad.

I don’t know why she reminded me of my mother (65 years old, god bless her), she was such a strong person back in the past, taking care of my sisters, dad and managing it all, when I was around 3 months old, she had to live with me alone, in Egypt where I needed physical therapy for my left hand or I’d lose it.. Taking care of me, back in 1985. Dad with sisters in Kuwait working to live and both of us stuck on a low budget that she would have a meal of tomato and bread and feed me as well without complaining.

I will never ever forgive myself if I would do anything like what I called sluts did to their mother to shop.

Mum, I miss you. A lot

moey…allow me to say that you are a very respectable guy and you did a good job with this old lady…when i see something like this i can’t just walk away and ignore …i like to help..it’s how i was raised..when seeing someone needing help i help him…once a lady couldn’t find a taxi and she was holding lot’s of stuff with her so i carried the stuff and let her set on a char on a near by store and when the taxi came i put the stuff for her in the taxi and the taxi driver was very nice too…

see you have to help…it gives you a good feeling..and you gain some prayers too..and this is very good…

so the mom’s coming to visit the daughters and they shop while she sits alone.. wow, such quality bonding time! Her dua’a for you is probably the best thing you could’ve asked for..a mother’s prayer is never rejected (and although she’s not your real mother, you acted like a son to her).. I’m just curious to know what you told the daughters

Moey, the bible says that a person’s faithfulness to God is judged by how they treat widows and orphans in trouble. That woman, at that time, was abandoned, and I feel strongly that God was SO please with you for taking the time to love her better than a daughter. I hope you can feel His pleasure.
